You’ve read this blog, you’ve seen some faces and heard the stories: you may be asking yourself “Gee golly Robin, these are these just the baddest chicks around! What can I do to support the cause of rugby development in India?“
Well aren’t you lucky that I have an answer for you!
RFS Pune, my home-away-from-home team and first women’s rugby squad in India is selling t-shirts to raise money to support their games and their grassroots rugby initiatives. One of the biggest obstacles that the teams face is that they are spread far and wide across India — to get to a match, teams sometimes have to travel multiple days by train (and you thought bus rides to Maine from NY via Rhode Island were bad), and said trains can cost a pretty penny. Coaching in schools and villages — some as many as three hours away — come at a cost as well. In order to help facilitate such efforts and spread the growth of the sport in communities and on a professional level, RFS Pune is selling some dashing training t’s.
The shirts are selling for $20 each. They come in two colors (purple with pink/bright green with navy printing) and have the team name in English and Marathi on the back and the team logo on the front.
Shirts are made of 100% cotton and guarrenteed to make you look like a badass at your next practice session, tournament, drink up, family reunion, etc.
Q: But how do I get a shirt?
A: It’s simple!
Leave a comment with your preferred quantity and size along with your email address below and I’ll be in touch shortly. Your shirt will be en route or, if you’re lucky, may be hand delivered with love by yours truly (offer only valid in the tri-state area).
Support this team’s efforts and you’ll be helping to enable the empowerment of the upcoming generation of women in India. Plus, you’ll look good doing it.
